Reading is Fundamental

I love reading, which is the foundation of all academic success. Yesterday, I read aloud to preschoolers at the Children’s Museum of Richmond as part of National Reading Month. On Dr. Seuss Day, “Green Eggs and Ham” was what I shared with students at Watkins Elementary.

I encourage students and families to spend time reading every day, because I truly believe what Dr. Seuss wrote in another book: “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”
